About

OpenForest4D is dedicated to advancing the monitoring and management of global forest ecosystems by leveraging multi-source remote sensing data and artificial intelligence to generate on-demand, research-grade estimates of forest structure and above-ground biomass across diverse timescales.

Through accessible novel web-based tools and educational resources, OpenForest4D’s mission is to support transformative research in forest science, ecosystem protection, and hazard mitigation while fostering a diverse STEM workforce through educational resources and community engagement.

OpenForest4D is a collaboration between the San Diego Supercomputer Center at UC San Diego, School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences at the University of Florida and the School Of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University. It is funded by NSF awards 2409885, 2409886 & 2409887.
